Itchiness is not fun

Soooo for the first time in twelve years I got poison ivy. I was really allergic when I was young and could catch it on the wind. As I got older and didn't catch it for a long time, I was sure I had outgrown this particular allergy. Then...out of nowhere was an itchy patch on my arm. I am not the camping sort and have no idea how it happened but one second itchy spot then BLAM! all up and down my arm.

Panic set in and I alcoholed the shit out of my arm. Cleaning it four times a day and putting Calamine on it constantly and I am pretty sure I have staved off a full outbreak. Lucky for me since last time it took my grandpa, mom, two nurses, and the doctor to hold me down and give me a shot in the butt (then again I was thirteen at the time). Looks like it is finally going away...for now. Hopefully never to return!

A Bridesmaid's Woes

I love my friend Brittany. We have been through a bunch (and I mean a bunch) of crap together. We have weathered being on a co-ed volleyball team together, the drunken haze of our 21st year together, and now we have gone through the planning process of her wedding together. I am not a fan of most girls. I am trying to be more open-minded but who in their right mind decided bridesmaids had to be a bunch of girls planning things together.

Sam (the girl in the yellow) and I are domestic goddesses. We cook, bake, and clean our little hearts out. Krystal (the one in green pants in the front) is a the craftiest person you will ever meet. She can make anything out of duct tape, yarn, and crepe paper. It is amazing! Sam (yes, we have two Sams, this one being in the pink sweater) is Brittany's sister and the maid of honor. She is my homegirl and has really stepped up to the plate. Lastly, is Cassie (the one in the white and green dress). She happens to be the sister of the groom and that is really the only reason why she is in the group but she sure is trying, and you have to give her some credit for that.

While of these girls are pretty classy bitches if I do say so myself, we are all SO FREAKING DIFFERENT! It has been chaotic, frustrating, laughable, but mostly downright amazing to work along these ladies. Even with everything, I found some ladies I actually get along with (for the most part). Yay for me.

Crawl for Cancer

This last Saturday 12 of my friends and I participated in the Pub Crawl for Cancer. We have been doing it for the last five years and it has to be one of the best experiences ever. This year we all had to be counted since we broke the Guiness Book of World Records for largest pub crawl in the world. This was also the first year that it has been held at Power and Light. Now I am not a huge fan of KCP&L but I have to say it really made a difference in the experience. In the past, when it was held at Westport it was crowded and you had to walk from bar to bar (or risk your life riding on a bus with crazy drivers). Making memories is what life is all about right? 10 bars, 20 pitchers, and 1 crazy, memory-making day.
